Not a trick question, just a stupid one

I promise you there is a reason why I'm asking you what may seem a stupid question, let me explain... My eyes have always been blue yet over the last few months they have begun to change colour and now look green. My doctor is totally stumped as to why, he has no clue whatsoever. The only logical reason he gave me is if I'd had a head trauma then that could cause it so seeing as I haven't, we don't know what's going on. I've been asking all my friends to tell me the colour of my eyes (they do look at me a bit weird, like you're 27 and you don't know what colour your eyes are?!? lol) but even they can't agree on a definite colour, half say blue, half say green. So help a girl out and please tell me what colour are my eyes?

Jade Goody

So Jade Goody and her boyfriend Jack got married yesterday, it is just a shame that unlike many young couples who tie the knot, this unity will not be a long one. Whatever you think of Jade – and before her diagnosis I can't say I was particularly fond of her – you cannot help but feel for the family she will be leaving behind. Her two sons are just 5 and 4 years old so not only does she have to prepare herself but those two young lads for a life without mummy. I cannot begin to imagine the heartache they're going through and I hope I never understand pain like that but it does make you think. She's only 27 the same age as me and a lot of my friends who are around their late 20's simply haven't bothered to have a smear test but this has been a wakeup call for us and I hope it will be for everyone. Fair enough, having a smear isn't the nicest way to spend your time but the alternative doesn't bear thinking about.

Now that the wedding is over and a lot of money has been made from magazine and tv deals for the boys, I hope she will spend the precious time she has left with her family and not with a tv camera.

C'mon Wales/Happy Valentine's Day

Can you believe we're in the middle of February already? I don't know where the time has got to but at least if you're reading this then you managed to survive Friday the 13th lol
I know today is Valentine's Day but in Wales there is a much more important event going on... something that only happens once a year... if the outcome is positive a lot of babies will be conceived this weekend (I'm not joking either)... if the outcome is negative then... nah we won't go thinking like that... it is of course, a 6 Nations weekend but more importantly than that it is Wales vs England at the Millennium Stadium this evening. I'm not a huge rugby fan I'll admit, football is my sport of choice, but at this time of year it doesn't matter whether you hate or love the game, every single Welsh person wants to beat the English. Here's hoping that it will be a great game and it ends the right way with a Welsh win lol

Back to Valentine's Day and a bit of useless information for you. According to ancient tradition St. Valentine's is the wedding day of the birds, the day on which they choose their mates for the year. So not just a day for hugely overpriced red roses and chocolates and Hallmark greeting cards then! I wish every one of you a great day spent with loved ones and to the single readers, perhaps you will be like the birds and choose your mate for the year today *wink*

A new kit - 3 Little Words

About time I had another new kit right? I am a little late with doing a valentines kit this year because work is manic and Jadie's birthday was last weekend so I'm having very little spare time but if you're anything like me, you end up scrapping events weeks after they happen lol

So onto the kit. There's a real focus on wordart in this one, something that I am always using in my layouts. It includes 18 papers and 79 elements, everything is 300ppi (taggers is 72ppi) which is great for printing. I hope you like it and if you download, leave me a bit of love - it is valentines after all lol.

Lastly, my poor little girl has been really bad for the last week with the flu bug that's been doing the rounds lately. It isn't bad enough to have the flu, she had to have a bug too. For the most part she's been sleeping around 14 hours a day and when she has been awake, most of the time she's been in the bathroom. Don't you just hate it when your kids are ill and all you can do is give them medicine and keep their fluids up. From other people who have had it, I gather it lasts 10-14 days so hopefully she'll be starting to feel better soon but until she does I won't be on the computer much.

I did manage to have a few hours break yesterday because I had my appointment for the hospital to see a specialist. It has now been confirmed that I have PCOS so at least I can begin treatment to manage it. Here I was hoping that 2009 would bring no more health problems for me lol Oh well!

I hope everyone is having a great day, I'm watching the inauguration right now and it's definitely going to be one of those 'where were you?' moments isn't it. Lets hope that Barack Obama lives up to all the hype and change is coming. Good luck to him!

Here's my latest kit, do you like it as much as I do? I've already had so much fun scrapping with it and it's so versatile that I've used it for boys, girls, men & women! How often do you find a kit that can do practically everyone?! Ok enough of my gushing.
Included in the 12x12 kit are 15 papers, 80 elements, 4 full alphas (upper & lower case letters, numbers & a few symbols) plus 4 quick pages. Everything is 300ppi so ideal for printing.

In the taggers sized kit, you get all the papers, elements and alphas. Everything is 72ppi so it's ok for tagging, papers are 700 pixels square and the rest sized accordingly.

Hiya folks!
Yep, I'm back at long last lol I won't go into the ins and outs as to why I've been awol but I'm around again now and I've got my creative buzz with me. So much so that my CT have been playing with a new kit and it'll be released on Sunday. It ill be a PTU kit but there'll be chances to win it and not just for one or two people either, check back on Sunday for some more details. I'm busy working on an add on and quick pages to go with it at the moment.
So how was everyone's Christmas and New Year? Ours was really nice, quiet with just the 3 of us on Christmas day and we spent most of our time playing with all Jadie's new toys and on the wii. OMG how much fun is that?! I'd been trying to get one since before last Christmas but whenever I had the money, the shops didn't have any - typical really. I'm not that into letting kids sit in front of video games rather than running around outside but you need so much energy to play most of the games we have that I don't mind her playing with it. I, of course, was spoilt rotten at Christmas. I had loads of books on scrap booking and some related magazine subscriptions which will all come in handy when I need some ideas! My mam was over the moon with the photo book that I'd made her (I spoke about it Oct/Nov time?) and she's been proudly showing it off to everyone she even vaguely knows... I'm half expecting her to stop strangers in the street and say 'hey do you want to see what my daughter made me for Christmas?' lol At least I know what to get her for the next few Christmas and Birthdays.
Speaking of birthday, it's mine today. Isn't it funny that as you get older birthdays just seem like any other day? I didn't wake up with the excitement of jelly and ice cream and balloons at a party, I looked in the mirror and there are no obvious signs that I'm suddenly another year older, although hopefully I'll have another few years before the wrinkles and gray hair start attacking me with a vengeance (fingers firmly crossed!)
This year, I plan to be more active on my blog and more creative in photoshop so there will be at least 1 kit every month that will be free, I don't plan on going PTU only because I get too much enjoyment from providing you with freebies but every once in a while a little money wouldn't go amiss to buy more supplies and therefore make more kits.

I hope your Tuesdays are going well. I'm laid up with a bad knee today (always something wrong with me eh?!) I have no idea how it happened, all I can think is that I must have slept awkwardly and twisted it so there's not much I can do today so I thought I would make a new blog layout. Latest with me

I'm glad that the new link to template 11 is now working, so sorry for the glitch.

I haven't been having too great a week this week. I've been in constant pain with my stomach, my wrists, the tops of my arms and elbow and shoulder on my left side which is making it hard to use the computer. I had an appointment to see my doctor at 1:35 Thursday afternoon so there I was sitting in the surgery waiting. When it got to 2pm the receptionist called me over and asked if I would see another doctor as mine had been called out to an emergency... I wasn't too happy but I ended up seeing my mother's doctor who was lovely. We have had some more results back and it's now been confirmed that I do have pernicious aneamia which means that my body can't absorb the vitamin B12 as opposed to not having enough B12 due to my diet, so at least now I know that none of this is my fault. Things are still pointing heavily towards me having PCOS, I should have an appointment through for around the end of November to go and have a scan to confirm it and then I can get on with the treatment. The only other thing that was brought up that I've not talked about before is my red blood count is higher than it should be. At the moment it isn't too bad but if it gets any higher then I would need to be put onto some blood thinning medication because of the increased risk of clots. Wonderful! Any more tablets and I'm going to start rattling when I walk lol
I have an appointment for more blood tests now in 3 weeks time and I'll see my doctor (hopefully my own this time) a week or so after that to get my results by which time I should have the appointment through for the ultasound and I'm due my B12 injection around then so the end of November is going to be busy for me.
As for scraps, I am working on a new kit but as I said I can't spend too much time on the computer until this pain eases but hopefully I will have it finished towards the end of the week as well as some more elements and templates.

Hiya everyone,
Thank you so much for all the downloads these last few days, you have well surpassed the 20,000 that I wanted. I would have been posting the kit tonight as everything's good to go but I'm having major problems with 4shared argh!! I've been trying to upload the files since 9pm, it's now 11:50 and so far only 1 has uploaded successfully. I've no idea why I'm getting "Your file has failed to upload" messages but I'm hoping that it's an issue with 4shared rather than with me. If it wasn't for having the builders in all week I would stay up through the night to get them uploaded but as I can't, I will have to try again tomorrow night. Sorry about the glitch!

I'm A Survivor Freebie

I couldn't let this month pass without making a Breast Cancer Awareness kit. Most of us know someone who has been diagnosed with the disease that does not discriminate. It doesn't care whether you're old or young, slim or curvy, even male or female. I was surprised to read about how many new male cases there are every year for a predominately female cancer. I did think about charging for this kit and giving the proceeds to the breast cancer appeal but instead I urge you all to donate something to the cause... every little helps!
I hope you like the kit, it is 12 x 12 300ppi and contains 12 papers, 70 elements and an alpha with uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers & symbols. Not everything is shown in the preview.

Boyz Rule Freebie

Am I alone in finding it hard to make kits that are aimed at boys? I think because I haven't got any, there's no real inclination on my part anyway to create them but I know there are lots of you who do have little male darlings so I thought I would at least try and here's what I came up with. There are 9 papers and 39 elements so by my standards it is a mini kit although some of you might think differently! As always everything is created as 300 ppi and the papers are 12 x 12 so ideal for printing out. I hope you like and can use it.

My apologies in advance to those who have subscribed purely for news of new kits because this is going to be a pretty long winded post with an update on me for those of you who have been moaning that I haven't posted in a while and you've had to email me for news! Yep I mean YOU! lol
Health wise, I am not doing too badly. I last saw my doctor about 3 weeks ago and from the few results he had back, it's now highly likely that I have PCOS so he's referred me to the hospital to have an ultrasound done on my ovaries and see a specialist because it's not his field. He told me that both appointments would be classed as urgent... I've had two letters in the last 10 days, the first saying that I'm on the waiting list for an ultrasound which will take 8 weeks and an appointment to see a specialist will take anything up to 6 months. So much for urgent!! I'm still having blood tests done every few weeks, starting to feel like a human pin cushion! Wouldn't be so bad if they were only taking one tube of blood but it's 5 or 6 at a time. I now look upon my doctor's surgery as a second home... if only they had tea and coffee facilities, I'd be sorted!
The reason I am feeling better isn't down to medication as you might presume but I'm on a new diet and it's amazing. I don't need or want to lose a lot of weight but the way I was eating wasn't doing me any good. I was eating just one meal a day because I just wasn't hungry, sometimes I would even go for a few days without eating anything, my appetite was rubbish. A few weeks ago though I met a woman who was a herbalife consultant and got talking about the diet/nutrition plan. She had lost over half her body weight and when she showed me a picture of her before, you would never have guessed it was the same person. I started on the plan 10 days ago, it is so good. You substitute two meals for two shakes, have a balanced meal with protein, carbs and veggies and can have two nutritious snacks a day, e.g. fruit. The shakes are yummy and there are loads of flavours (I've got strawberry and cappuccino which is gorgeous with hot milk) my doctor was actually surprised how packed full of vitamins and nutrients they are and although he told me not to expect results because of the PCOS, I lost an inch off my chest, 3 inches of my waist, 2.5 off my hips and 2 inches from my thighs in the first week but the way I'm feeling since being on it is amazing. The great things as well is, when you've lost the desired weight and your BMI is at a healthy level, you cut down to one shake so you're still getting all the goodness and are less likely to put the weight back on. As you can tell I highly recommend this to anyone who needs to lose weight or just get healthy.
So that's me. Oh and even though I've been so busy this last month I have made up 2 new kits which will be posted soon and I have a surprise too hehehe

A Touch Of Pink Kit

I've just finished uploading my new freebie kit, "A Touch of Pink'. What started off as a mini kit steadily turned into another biggie, I don't think I'm capable of making mini kits lol Included are 16 12 inch square papers in jpeg format and 90 elements that are png files. My Day & A Freebie

I had my first injection today for the pernicious aneamia/vitamin B12 deficiency and after being told by the nurse that it would hurt a lot, I was pleasantly surprised. Yes it hurt a little like any injection but it wasn't half as bad as I was beginning to imagine. I'm not sure if I am imagining it or not but I am beginning to feel a bit better. According to her though, I don't just have to have the 3 this week, I have to have them Monday, Wednesday and Friday next week too and then every 12 weeks after. I'll find out for certain on Wednesday when I have my next one. If it'll do me good which it will then I'm all for it. I would also like to thank everyone for the love, kindness and support I have been shown during all my health problems. When I have been having a very low day, it has been those messages that have helped to get me through. I have met some of the nicest people who have been there to listen to me moan, rant and cry and you will never know how much I have appreciated being able to do that, I just hope I can do the same for you.

I can't believe it was the first of September today, well yesterday as it's gone midnight, hasn't this year flown?!?! I finished getting the last minute bits and pieces that I'd forgotten for Jadie going back to school in the morning. I know most parents are very, very glad that it's that time of the year after having the kids off for the long summer holiday but I'm so going to miss having her home and under my feet all day lol I'm lucky that she loves going and I won't have to drag her out of bed in the morning. Good luck to those of you who have children starting their first school's this week, I hope everything goes well and they enjoy it.

Ooh and I have a freebie... Here is an alpha to go with my latest kit. It's saved as individual .png files (those alpha sheets drive me crazy too!) and is, of course, suitable for printing with the main kit. I have also made a taggers sized alpha, so those of you who would use it in your tags only can save a smaller file. It contains both uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and a few symbols - 67 files in total.

New Kit - P.S. I Love You

As promised, here is my new kit. While I've been holed up resting these past few weeks I've watched P.S. I Love You numerous times. I'm not really a chick flick type of girl but I love chick lit and I bought a copy of the book when it first came out and couldn't put it down and the film is brilliant so here's my take of it. Who says love themed kits are just for Valentines?
There are two versions of it, the traditional 12x12 300ppi kit and one that is tag sized. The papers in both are .jpeg and the elements .png files.

I'm Back!!

Whoa what a month it’s been for me. My ongoing health troubles have landed me in hospital twice in the last few weeks. The first time I was out with my little girl at a club she’s been going to during the school holidays when I developed chest pain, palpitations (my heart rate was 150+), pains in my arms and shoulders and feeling dizzy. I can’t tell you how scared I was, not only due to what was happening but this was the first time that Jadie had seen me have one of these ‘attacks’, all the others had happened at night when she was in bed luckily. I ended up being blue lighted the 20 or so miles to the nearest large hospital, I had a few ECG’s, a chest x-ray and various blood tests which all came back clear. They discharged me the following day after being fitted with a 24 hour heart tape which would monitor my heart beat and record the palpitations and any other abnormalities. I had the results back 10 days after being fitted with the tape but once again it was ok.
By this point I was really down in the dumps, I honestly couldn’t understand why this was happening when all the tests were coming back fine. It got to the stage that I felt like I was going mad and it was becoming such a struggle to get out of bed in the morning or even go out on my own incase I had another attack. Makes it sound like panic attacks doesn’t it? But it’s not, I do have answers which I’ll get to in a minute. I have also been feeling exhausted for the last few months. Before all this, I would happily survive on just a few hours sleep, now I sleep for 8 hours and cannot get through the day without having to have a few hours’ kip. I know I’m really lucky to have some great people around me who can look after Jadie while I go back to bed and I am so grateful for them.
So I ended up back in hospital again with the same symptoms and still all the tests came back negative, I stayed overnight and was discharged the next day. Yesterday I had an appointment with my doctor, I could kiss this man, I honestly adore him lol Not only is he getting answers but he is the most genuinely nice guy I have ever met, he makes you feel like you are not a burden to him and he has all the time in the world for you – the complete opposite to my previous doctor. He had a few results to some blood tests back, although not all of them are back and he’s ordered another 5 or 6 tests to make sure that what he’s found is causing all my symptoms or whether they’re just adding to some other disease. So what he found… I have a severe vitamin B12 deficiency, the same with folic acid and I may also have PCOS but that isn’t for sure. I have started on folic acid tablets and I have 3 injections Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the B12 and then I’ll have them every 3 months for the rest of my life. What I didn’t realize was that my Grandmother who died when I was little died from Pernicious Anaemia which is caused by a B12 deficiency but medicine has evolved so much since then that I’m not worried. When you look at the symptoms of both it all seems to fit the bill and even though it’s not exactly good to have something wrong with you, I am happy that there is something wrong and it’s not all in my head.
Symptoms of B12 deficiency include:
pale skin, often with a lemon tint
menstrual problems
poor resistance to infections
If the deficiency goes on too long, the nervous system is liable to be affected, causing:
tingling of the fingers and toes
muscle weakness
staggering
tenderness in the calves
confusion

Symptoms of folic acid deficiency include:
tiredness and palpitations (awareness of heartbeat).
Shortness of breath and dizziness (fainting)
If the anaemia is severe, it can result in angina (chest pain), headache and leg pains (intermittent claudication).

All of these symptoms I’ve experienced so it’s all adding up now. Hopefully once I have the 3 injections next week to give my body a boost of the B12 then I’ll start to feel better and can get on with leading a ‘normal’ life.
So that’s what’s been happening with me, never a dull moment eh lol Oh and the good news… I shall be back in a bit with a new kit and some quick pages which I hope you’ll like. It is my favourite kit so far and even though there’s a theme to it, I think it’s pretty versatile and can be used for any photos.

Health Scare part II

Those of you who know me personally, are aware of the state of my health right now. For those who don't and to cut a long story short, I suffered a small heart attack back in May and I had not been diagnosed or experienced any heart problems before this.
Last night while sitting done watching tv, I quickly became dizzy, my heart was racing, I was sweating profusely while feeling cold and clammy to the touch and my arms felt like lead. With my mam having very high blood pressue, we have a machine in the house to read it. At 8:20pm my bp was 176/98 and my pulse was 110. We took it again at 9 o'clock after I'd been resting and it had gone to 176/156 with a pulse rate of 122. Argh! As I wasn't having any trouble breathing or any of the other symptoms associated with a heart attack, I rang the out of hours doctor and was told that a triage nurse would ring me back shortly. An hour later (my stress levels through the roof by now) she finally rang me back. After going through everything, she didn't seem concerned enough for me to go to the hospital (which is 30 minutes away) and told me to ring the doctors surgery first thing the next morning and arrange to see someone and rest until then.
8:00am this morning I phoned my doctors, a triage nurse then phoned me back and I went through everything again with her and was told to go in for a 9:10am appointment. There's me sitting in my pyjamas, not showered and looking a complete state and I had 30 minutes to get out the door lol Thankfully though, I was feeling much better just extremely tired. I saw a lovely young doctor (wink, wink!) who was very thorough and really wants to get to the bottom of this... not like the last doctor who made me feel as if I was wasting his time. There are so many possibilities as to what's causing all this, so I have another appointment for loads of blood tests next Tuesday - not sure if I will have any blood left by the time they've finished testing! - and I have to do a 24 hour urine sample. Now if anyone has had one of these, let me know... right now I'm imaging them giving me a huge gallon container to pee into... which reminds me, I best sort out a sheet because there is no way that I am walking into a packed surgery with a huge bottle of pee under my arm lmao
So that's been my last 24 hours, hopefully this time next month I will have a definite answer to my health issues and be working towards curing or controlling whatever it is. Wish me luck!
